Will the proctor be able to access my personal computer files and documents without my knowledge?

  • ProctorU proctors cannot secretly access your computer files. With your permission, proctors have the ability to view your screen and utilize the mouse and keyboard as if they were sitting next to you.
  • Once the exam starts, the proctor will monitor everything on the screen, but can no longer use your mouse and keyboard. During the entire process, a chat box is running, and you can see what permissions the proctor currently has at any time.
  • The entire chat is saved, including a record of what actions the proctor took while accessing your computer.
  • Where can I test my system for the Online Proctor Requirements?
  • It is mandatory to install the Guardian Secure Browser HERE and the ProctorU Extension HERE, and review the Virtual Proctoring Technical and Examination Location Requirements HERE two weeks before your exam date to confirm your operating system's compatibility.
  • Use the Test It Out HERE feature for equipment compatibility located in your UCNS Examination Site.
  • Please note that a "Pass" or "Green" status on the Test It Out feature can not guarantee that you will not experience technical issues during your exam launch or exam session.

  • It is mandatory to review ProctorU's Internet Connection/Bandwidth HERE requirements.
  • A hardwired internet connection is recommended.
  • A wireless connection can be unstable with an increased risk of disconnection during the exam. If you choose to use wireless, we recommend a speed of at least 10Mbps.
  • Hot spotting and tethering are NOT a stable connection and NOT permitted on ProctorU.
  • On exam day, please reduce the number of applications and users on your bandwidth connection.
  • Please test your internet speed prior to the exam day using one of the following tests:

What should I do before connecting to an Online Proctor?

Ensure your computer station is prepared 30 minutes prior to the scheduled connection time to reduce potential connection issues. It is MANDATORY that all candidates test their exam day computer PRIOR to the examination date to ensure all requirements are met. If a candidate is unable to access their examination due to a failure to complete the computer readiness check prior to the exam, they will forfeit their booking.

For additional preparedness, you MUST review the Remote Proctoring FAQ Page HERE regarding remote proctoring and preparedness for examination day.

Meazure Learning highly recommends downloading the secure browser and testing your equipment well in advance of your test session. Please read more details via the link above.

Technical issues encountered during the exam, which are a result of the candidate requiring a rebooking of the exam, may result in additional exam fees payable by the candidate.
